The Leather Intensive

All materials needed to make one full-leather binding, including leather, are covered by the materials fee. (Should you need additional leather, it will be available for purchase.) If you would like to personalize your binding please feel free to bring decorated papers for the endsheets.

Please bring your kit of hand tools:

• small pointed bone folder
• large bone folder
• scissors
• X-acto knife with #11 blades
• small cutting mat (if you have one)
• tweezers
• skiving knives, both French and German (if you do not have knives, please let Daniel know)
• small clear plastic triangles (30/60/90 & 45/45/90)
• ruler and straight edge (18–24 inches)

You’ll be paring your leather using both a manual paring machine and knives. The work will proceed most efficiently if each participant has a paring machine, so please let Daniel know if you have a Schärf-Fix or Brockman paring machine that you can bring.
