Julie Chen
Enrollment limited to twelve.
ow for the first time ever, Julie Chen will be offering a five-day version of her ever-popular Book of Fun and Games workshop.
You will get a detailed introduction to paper engineering techniques and will make a book that contains ten moveable and/or three-dimensional mechanisms comprised of the best and most popular mechanisms from Book of Fun and Games Volumes I and II as well as a few new ones from the yet-to-be-released Book of Fun and Games Volume III.
Structures will include such things as the magic window shade, the volvelle with a half-scene dissolve, and a pop-up 3d theater. You will work on visual content for your books using Julie’s enormous collection of rubber stamps as well as other simple collage and mark-making techniques, and you will leave the workshop with a completed book that will amaze and delight all who see it.
Participants should have some basic bookmaking skills under their belts before taking this workshop although no prior paper engineering skills are required.
